Enabling the Security Tab in Folder/File Properties

The enabling of the Security Tab in the Folder/File Properties tip is only for Windows XP Professional users. Windows XP Home users cannot apply this tip because the Security Tab is restricted or not available. Windows XP Home users must start their computer in Safe mode to gain access to the Security tab in the Folder/File Properties page. When the Security tab is enabled, the Folder/File Properties page should look like the image below.
There a few ways to open the Folder Options:
Using Control Panel
This is probably the most common way to access the Folder Options.
- Click Start and then Control Panel.
- If you are using Category View for the Control Panel.
- Click Appearance and Themes.
- Click Folder Options.
- If you are using Classic View for the Control Panel.
- Click Folder Options.
Using Windows Explorer
- Open Windows Explorer.
- Click on Tools then select Folder Options.
